Niall Tóibín : Seó Man

1 x 52 MINUTE DOCUMENTARY PROFILING NIALL TÓIBÍN

In his long and celebrated career, Niall Tóibín has been known as a raconteur, satirist, pioneer of stand-up comedy and an actor of stage and screen.

Fierce, controversial & hilarious - he has entertained and challenged us for the best part of half-a-century. Though now in his late 70s he has lost none of the “fire in the belly” which won him many friends and one or two enemies.

In this candid documentary he talks honestly about the highs and lows of his life and work from his definitive portrayal of Brendan Behan and his career as a dramatic actor to the controversially explosive satire of his television appearances and his phenomenally successful one-man shows.

Screened on the closing afternoon of the
Corona Cork Film Festival, 19th October 2008

Broadcast on TG4, Christmas Day, December 2008

Producer: Nuala Cunningham
Director: Seán Ó Cualáin
